“Doesn’t the conflict-of-interest violate ethical standards?” |
Therapist & Relationship Questions |
1. Isn’t there a conflict-of-interest for therapists because they will be paid to participate? 2. Doesn’t this conflict-of-interest violate most therapists’ professional ethical standards? 3. Might BCBSMA refer clients only to therapists who cooperate with the TOP program? 4. Doesn’t BCBS anticipate compensating therapists in the future based upon their client’s TOP results? 5. Couldn’t TOP policy cause therapists to avoid more “treatment refractory” clients? 6. Where is evidence of “gaps in quality”? 7. What are the gaps? 8. Where is evidence that TOP addresses the gaps? 9. Why hasn’t BCBS held open forums prior to adoption of TOP? 10. Why is BCBS ignoring the informed feedback that it is receiving? 11. Using the TOP, isn’t BCBS interfering with the client – therapist relationship? 12. Doesn’t TOP force upon clients the views of outsiders? 13. Don’t therapists now often avoid recording data that can be stigmatizing to clients? 14. Don’t clients and therapists lose all control over the data after it is sent to BHL? |
