Questions from the point of view of clients and patients of therapy.
Questions looking at what it means to therapists and to the therapy relationship.
Questions about the science and methodology behind the TOP.
Questions about the cost and financial interests involved in the TOP.
In fact, there are so many questions that we have an evolving list of the Top TOP questions. Place your vote through our blog, http://notthetop.wordpress.com/.
· Doesn’t the TOP invade clients’ privacy, asking very personal questions that are not the business of BCBSMA or BHL?
· Won’t data be put into clients’ files that could be damaging to them in the future?
· Can BCBSMA guarantee the safety of the TOP data?
· Doesn’t the TOP force therapists into a series of ethical dilemmas, including: Getting clients to do the TOP or losing money? Getting clients who fear saying “no” to disclose data? Getting clients to disclose potentially illegal information? Getting clients to endanger their own private, personal data?
· Haven’t therapists had experiences of the TOP as occasionally iatrogenic, causing by suggestion the very problems that it claims to help ameliorate, including expressions of suicidal intent among children and teens?
· Where and how has the TOP caused treatment to improve?
· Hasn’t the TOP already been used to deny payment for service?
· Hasn’t the TOP already distorted some therapeutic relationships? |
