Excerpt from page 28: “Since no external measure indicating that change actually occurred was available for this study, the possibility that the TOP is unstable (rather than sensitive to change) cannot be ruled out from this study when considered in isolation. … Furthermore, there is robust evidence from past research documenting the efficacy and effectiveness of psychotherapy. Therefore, it is reasonable to speculate that at least some of the change demonstrated in this study was real change associated with treatment rather than measurement error. However, future studies will be needed to provide definitive evidence on the issue.”
